Violin and organ concert at the Saint-Martin Church in Saint Maurin on the 12th of July
Playing to a small but highly enthusiastic audience, Natasha and Frédéric delighted us with a range of pieces from the Romantic period.
Natacha Triadous’s playing was impressive, reflecting the exceptional talent she developed through attending virtuoso workshops, in particular her studies in England at the Yehudi Menuhin school. In combination with Frédéric Deschamps’s virtuosity on the organ, the musical performance was superb.
The concert was a huge success, with rapturous applause. A friendly gathering with a farewell drink brought the musical afternoon to a close.
The Ode Trio Jazz Concert on Thursday the 20th of August
Due to unfavourable weather conditions, we were forced to move the event indoors to the hall of the former Abbey castle.
About 50 spectators came to enjoy the concert. It took place in a cabaret style setting put in place by les Amis de l’Abbaye.
The jazz arrangements of well-known songs by Piaf, Brassens, Aznavour, Brel, Stromae and even Alicia Keys showcased the poetry and subtlety of the Ode Trio’s musical style. The group consists of Shane on piano, Florian on double bass and Gabriel on drums.
The audience was captivated. The concert was a huge success with several encores – what a wonderful evening.
