Church of Saint Romain
Dedicated to Saint Roman, holy martyr persecuted and killed in Rome in 258, the usual name of this church is Saint Romain.
This church, imposing with its large wall belfry, dates from the beginning of the 16th century.
Church of Notre Dame du Grand Castel
The parish church, Our Lady of Grand Castel (Notre-Dame du Grand Castel), sometimes called Our Lady of the Assumption, was built in 1247 in the parish of Saint Seurin, at the same time as the creation of the bastide of Puymirol.

Joseph de Galard de Saldebru, the last abbot of Saint-Maurin
Coming from a modest branch of the very old and brilliant Galard family, Joseph de Galard de Saldebru became commendatory abbot of Saint-Maurin in 1783. Contested in the administration of his abbey and his jurisdiction, the 32nd and last abbot, swept away by the revolutionary turmoil, was judged and executed on 17 February 1794.

Restoration of the abbey church: the first two phases are completed!
The restoration work on the abbey church of Saint Maurin started in 2020. They were delayed a few times due to the health crisis.
